A JYTable comes along with multi-colmn sort and quick-filter support. Simply click on the table header to activate sorting - by holding down the control (or meta) key and clicking on a different column header, you enable multi-column sorting.

Note: JYTable requires Java 6 or above, SwingX V1.6.2 or above, extends JXTable and is provided in a separate jar file - jytable.jar.

The incremental filter mode is active by default and means that the output is updated while typing. In non-incremental filter mode the output is updated when the user commits the input value i.e. by pressing the enter-key.
